Livermore duels Amador in track meet

The Livermore High School Track team had attended a meet at Foothill High on Wednesday April 12th. In the boy’s 100 meter Gursimranpreet Bhatia (Grade 12) from Livermore High came in 2nd place out of 62 runners with a time of 11.26 seconds.

“The team did well all around and I was 9th all time with the time I set,” Bhatia said. In the Girls 100m Samantha Dukes (Grade 12) from Livermore High School placed 1st out of 85 runners with a time 12.75 seconds and she finished 31 seconds faster than the second place runner. In the boys 1600 meter run Lucas Strand (Grade 12) and Omar Maklaf (Grade 12), both from Livermore High School finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Strand ran the 1600 meter in 4 minutes and 33 seconds and Maklaf finished in 4 minutes and 34 seconds, both finishing 8 seconds faster than the 3rd place runner. In the Girls 1600 Rebecca Wheeler (Grade 10) and Veronica Valenton (Grade 11) both from Livermore High finished 1st and 2nd respectively, finishing within .4 seconds of each other and 10 seconds faster than the rest of the runners. In the Women’s Pole vault Janna Pickett (Grade 12) from Livermore High School finished 1st out of 25 vaulters.

“The Amador meet was an exciting meet for Livermore. Dual meets are always a great opportunity to feed off the competition to improve,” Pickett said.  All the results came from www.Diablotiming.comOverall, Livermore High came 1st in womens and 3rd in mens. They did very well and look forward to their next meet.
