Girl’s softball prepares for Livermore Stampede

Alyssa Fuller | Staff Writer

The Livermore Stampede is an event that takes place every spring. All of the valley’s varsity softball teams come together for one tournament hosted by Ernie Rodriguez and run by many parents and the LHS junior varsity team. The stampede also plays a big role on going to the North Coast Section. Depending on how the team does in the tournament determines whether they get a buy or not for the first NCS game.

The tournament is LHS softball program’s main source of funding and brings in a lot of money from tournament entry fees, raffle sales, and the general function of the event. Also, all the work is done by volunteers.

This is the 23rd annual stampede and the 25th anniversary is coming up,  so previous runners of the program are starting to prep the new incoming workers. Come out and support your girls varsity softball on April 6th, 7th, and 8th. Go cowboys.
