This last Wednesday, Feb. 17, was John Ascher’s last day teaching at Livermore High School. He has been an art teacher at LHS for 11 years, and has been teaching for a total of 42 years. Ascher is retiring from teaching to become a minister in Wisconsin.

Ascher said he will miss working with the school’s staff. “We have a very dedicated and talented faculty.” When asked for his favorite memory at LHS, Ascher said there are “too many.”

Ascher will be moving to Wisconsin, where his family lives, to go into parish ministry. In the past, Ascher was a religious brother, and the ministry he was involved in was teaching.
